Followers of the Ultimate Fighting Championship are eagerly anticipating UFC 106: Ortiz vs. Griffin 2. It will be held on November 21, 2009 on the Las Vegas Strip at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. Last September 6, 2009, it was announced that Dennis Hallman would be competing against John Howard on this event. This was then confirmed on September 10, 2009.

Tito Ortiz was originally slated to go against Mark Coleman. On October 5, the fight was off because Coleman was suffering from a knee injury. Forrest Griffin steps in to go against Ortiz.

Other news on UFC 106 is that Jon Fitch was slated to compete against Ricardo Almeida. Unfortunately, Almeida was considered out of the competition because of his knee injury. Fitch was then announced to go head to head against Thiago Alves at UFC 107. However, Alves pulled out because of an injury he acquired during training. Nonetheless, Fitch is still on the game and he is just waiting news on who his opponent would be.

October 26, UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar canceled his fight against Shane Carwin. His illness has prevented him from training for several weeks. Therefore this eagerly anticipated event has been rescheduled for UFC 108 and this is the fight headline.

Followers of UFC know that there would be changes in the match up line ups. They’re used to it by now. The important thing is that they are still excited to find out on who will win.
